Exciting career update

I have some reasons to celebrate! I received and accepted job offer with a new employer, a local nonprofit who provides a unique and exciting service in the green-mobility and transportation sphere. I’m really excited for my work to once again engage my technical skills, be able to build a useful service that allows my community to free ourselves from car-dependency, and to reorient my career tragectory to better match my needs....

April 2022 life updates

Whelp - the plan to publish more consistently on my blog lasted about a week. I’ve been keeping busy and haven’t had a ton of time to sit down and write. I have some cool things that I’ve been working on which excited to share. Deploying personal website and email services

In one of my IT training classes, I was recently asked about how to secure a custom domain (e.g. gunnaraas.com), set up a simple website, and set up email services. This is something I did early on in my career, largely as a “because I can”, and that I’ve received positive feedback on from potential clients and employers. There are, of course, ways of spending hundreds of dollars a year to accomplish this in a one-click deployment (GoDaddy, Squarespace, Google Workspace, etc....

New blog... I'll try this again!

It is once again a New Years Resolution of mine to do more personal writing & publishing, and to once again try to revive my blog. I’ve tried this before, but am now feeling like there’s enough going on that I have interesting things to document and share.
